I recently (yesterday) played the role of O'Brien in a theatrical production of George Orwell's '1984'. In addition to acting in the play, I headed up the digital part of the show. A large propoganda screen was the focal point of the set, and this is one of the more prominant and reoccurring images used in the show. Got the stock image off of StockExchange sxc.hu
Enjoy!

Big Brother was depicted as having an incredibly bushy mustache...

I know... We had a great image of it with the mustache, but it was too hitler for the show. We were asked to do something a little more modern and a little less nazi.
Personally I liked the other version. It was like a perfect combo of GW Bush and Hitler.

Judging from all of these comments, you did a pretty good job! (though to be fair to the other cast members, it's a bit of a one-man book, so you were always going to steal the show). Have you seen the film version of nineteen-eighty-four? It's surprisingly good - John Hurt is magnificent in it. As for the image, the style is good, although his face doesn't seem trustworthy enough. It's been a while since I read the book, but I remember that Big Brother was a stern and imposing figure, but also one which inspired trust and reverence in the populace.
